Amit Kalra MD, FACC
Location: East Brunswick
Dr. Kalra received his undergraduate and masters degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He then attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, in Baltimore. Dr. Kalra completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and his fellowship in cardiology at Hahnemann Hospital, both in Philadelphia. He also completed advanced training in cardiac CT angiography at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Kalra’s cardiovascular interests include general cardiovascular care and preventive cardiology, congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease and cardiovascular imaging. His imaging expertise includes echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT. Dr. Kalra also has an interest in sleep medicine and its relationship to cardiovascular disease, and he is one of the few cardiologists around the country who are double boarded in Sleep Medicine. He serves as the director of the Cardiology Associates of New Brunswick Sleep Center.
